“You Not Funny.”

I am constantly amazed at Penelope’s . . . gumption.  She never hesitates to tell anyone how she feels about anything.  {And if you’ve already heard this story, I apologize.  I cannot stop telling it to people. . . .}

We walked into ballet class the week before last, and a lady was teasing Penelope {she is quite fun to tease, as the baby of the family}.  Well, apparently at one point Penelope had enough because she said to the lady, “You not funny.”

It was hilarious.  But it was hilarious in a way that it wasn’t supposed to be hilarious.  I calmly told Penelope that she needed to use a nice tone of voice when she talks to adults.  Penelope’s response?  “Well her not being very nice to me!”

Again, a very good point.  I don’t think this kid is going to have any fear of confrontation. . . .

A Fashionista in Hole-y Jeans

Rosemary is completely obsessed with “fashion” – and I put fashion in quotes because it is HER interpretation of fashion that she follows.  I doubt she is aware of any fashions beyond her own ideas, and I doubt she cares much, which is what really tells me that she has style.  She carefully picks out her clothes every morning.  More often than not, she is wearing either a skirt or this one particular pair of skinny jeans that are her favorites.

She has completely worn out these jeans.  They have a hole in the knee.  They are arguably entirely too small.  But she.loves.them and will not consider wearing any other pair of jeans (even though I have purchased her the exact same pair of jeans in a larger size).  I keep saying that these jeans need to disappear, and now when she doesn’t find them immediately she starts panicking thinking that I’ve made them disappear.

For now, she can wear them around the house, but that’s it!!

“If E.T. Made It To The Spaceship. . . .”

Henry is seriously the funniest kid ever.  He has an amazing sense of humor.  The other day we were watching E.T. (now one of the kids’ most favorite movies ever) and it was the first part of the movie where E.T. was trying to get back to the spaceship before it flew off.  As we all know, E.T. didn’t make it.  The kids were discussing why E.T. didn’t make it, why the others didn’t wait on him, etc., etc.

Then Henry said, with a little grin on his face, “If E.T. made it to the spaceship, this would be a really short movie.”  Gary and I just died laughing.  So true, buddy, so true.

The Big Bathtub

Piper is a HUGE fan of the big bathtub in our master bathroom.  Back when she had her tonsillectomy a few months ago, taking a bath made her feel better than anything.  She took several a day, and I so remember just sitting with her as she soaked in the tub and relaxed.

This past weekend the kids asked me to take some photos of them (isn’t that fun?) and so we did a faux bathtub shoot with Piper (no water and clothed) and it was SO much fun!  The kids thought it was hilarious that it looked like Piper was taking a bath but she really wasn’t.
